The 2009 Dodge Challenger stands out in a crowd of vehicles. This car has classic Mopar styling that gets your attention and holds it. I test drove an SE E Challenger and noticed that the ride was smooth, the engine responsive, and the car handled well. There are five Challenger models to choose from, here are some of the features of those models. The base model Challenger is the SE E Package with a base price of $22,545. The SE E Challenger is equipped with a 3.5-liter high-output SOHC (single overhead cam) 24 valve V6 engine with a horsepower rating of 250. The estimated gas mileage for this model is 17 miles per gallon for city driving conditions and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard. Also standard on this model is an AM/FM CD MP3 Radio. For comfort the Challenger SE E Package comes with an eight way power seat for the driver. Seventeen inch aluminum wheels come standard with black side wall all season tires. Options for the SE E Package include an interior appearance group by MOPAR, satellite radio, and an engine block heater.The next Challenger model is the SE G Package with a base price of $25,340. The SE G Challenger is equipped with the same V6 engine as the SE E Challenger as well as the four-speed automatic transmission. There are more available options for the SE G Challenger. In addition to the options listed for the SE E Challenger, additional options for the SE G Challenger include larger wheels, leather trimmed bucket seats, leather interior group, a power sunroof, a gps system, a custom sound system and an optional AM/FM stereo radio with an in-dash six disk CD/DVD/MP3 player.The SE Challengers come in the following exterior colors: Bright Silver Metallic, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl, Dark Titanium Metallic, Deep Water Blue Pearl, Inferno Red Crystal Pearl, Stone White and TorRed.The R/T models get into the performance end of the Challenger. There are two R/T models to choose from, the R/T F Challenger and the R/T J Challenger. The R/T models come in all the colors available for the SE models and one additional color is available for the R/T models that are not offered for the SE models; that color is HEMI Orange Pearl.Both the R/T F and R/T J Challengers are equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 Hemi VCT engine with a 372 horsepower rating.
